Both of my kids attended Briscoe. All but one teacher that we had over 3 years of schooling were great. The administration, school nurse, office staff and counselors were always easy to reach and helpful. The school is clean. The students are encouraged to push themselves academically and offered a lot of tutoring or extra help if needed. We are very happy with this middle school!

My son is in all PreAP classes and a really great students, no behavior problems and he is an athlete. We are new to Briscoe and have been dealing with a bullying issue for months. The administration did not get back to me until I reached out to the Superintendent and still, nothing was resolved. PreAP Math teacher told my son, he should drop some classes instead of asking what was going on (dealing with the bullying) and his grades dropped. Luckily, he did have an amazing counselor who stepped up and really helped him. If you want your kids to be safe, it won't happen. They are bully tolerant. I was pretty disappointed.

My daughter has been here for three years. She has had a very good experience overall. As a parent I find the teachers responsive. She's in all Pre-AP classes and has enjoyed them. She's taking High School credit Pre-AP Algebra 1 and High School Credit Pre-AP Spanish II as an 8th grader. The school has a wonderful fine arts program with a great Orchestra, Choirs, Band, Theatre department and more. The sports programs seem to be pretty good and start in 7th grade. There are lots of options for extra help before and after school if your child needs it. Teachers offer extra help in most classes so there is no reason for a child to get behind. Most teachers use the Remind App to stay in touch with students and parents. Often kids are encouraged to use Smart Devices in classes. They also have tablets and iPods for kids to use in most classes if a child doesn't have a device. There are lots of interesting clubs before and after school as well. They embrace military families and have a wonderful Veteran's Day program well worth attending. As with most Texas Schools there are focused on the STAAR but that seems to be common with all highly rated schools. I feel like my child is well prepared for the transition to High School. She has learned good study skills and how to take notes. The AP classes have some homework but it doesn't bog down family life. My child is very busy outside of school and has no problems keeping up with the work load. The school is quick to pull out kids that cause discipline problems. My only minor complaint is that the PTA likes to plan dances on the Friday of Holiday weekends every year. That's the worst thing I can say (: Briscoe is a great school!

School has great staff and located in Alamo Ranch, which is a convenient location because the school is in the heart of the community and is very accessible for the students to walk or ride a bike to campus. The campus has great cyber-security club as well led by extremely intelligent facilitators.
