The teachers are excellent and work very hard to overcome the obstacles faced by this campus. There is a lot of poverty in this area, the teachers and PTO even raised money to buy coats for many children. Despite the odds against them, they still manage to be great teachers, and all my children who attended this school continue to be in AP classes. Don't look at the grades given by outsiders, this is a great school.

The teacher my daughter has, has given up on her, she's told me straight to my face she doesn't know what to do anymore. She knew from the beginning my daughter is a little slow and needs a little help with someone she can trust but she doesn't seem to care. I've brought it to the attention of the principal on several occasions and he doesn't seem to care or want to fix our problem. We've asked several times to have our daughter switch classes but he has refused. I don't recommend this school to anyone, choose any school but Thornton.

Bullying is a big issue that isn't addressed there, last year my son was beat up on playground by 4 different kids at one time, teachers weren't watching the kids, I reported it and kept pursuing that something be done, my son come home over week later with apology notes from each of the 4 kids and that was the only consequence they received. This year he was punched by one of the same kids in the face, his whole face was red when he got off bus, I put him in case and drove straight to school and showed principal and told him, he said he'd handle it, days went by, no call. I called there and asked he said he was waiting for someone to contact him, that now has been 2 weeks ago and need never called me. I and had other issues with this school and I don't recommend it. It seemed good online but my personal experience it's horrible. The principal should be enrolled in the school since he clearly has no knowledge of what is going on and what to do.
