Homes in this area come in a wide range of prices, styles, and sizes.

Where to Live

Step outside of your condo along McKinney Avenue and into the fun neighborhood. Residents of West Village, located at McKinney and Lemmon Avenue, are close to eclectic boutiques, bars, cafes, and upscale dining. Turtle Creek is a quieter, more residential part of Uptown with townhomes, historic single-family homes, and condos. The coveted State Thomas neighborhood offers historic, brownstone architecture townhomes paved with brick streets. Knox-Henderson offers more upscale townhomes.

Where to Eat

With its booming dining and nightlife scene, Uptown offers a tantalizing place for foodies and those with a palette for cocktails. Enjoy upscale southern cooking and then head over to an outdoor patio for beers on tap. If you’re in the mood for something more sophisticated there are plenty of cuisine options, including many Asian-fusion restaurants and elegant wine bars. Small cafes offering yogurt, pastries, and coffee are also popular with the active crowd.

What You'll See

While the occasional young parent is taking their baby out for a casual stroll, it’s mostly fur-babies being walked around this neighborhood. Young men and women can be seen jogging. Others are on their way to or from a yoga class. Groups of friends eat, drink, and laugh outside with frozen yogurt or wine during the day and into the night. A variety of business professionals from various industries stride through Uptown on their way to or from work or lunch.

Friday Night Fun

Uptown has a cozy, warm vibe thanks to its ability to make people feel at home outdoors. Plentiful seating and lighting offer residents a clean, well-lit place to sip drinks outside while watching people stroll down McKinney Avenue. Friends are grouped together chatting outside their gyms and studios making plans for the rest of their night. Upscale theatres offer a laid-back movie night for those wanting to slip away. Families and couples on romantic dates view an outdoor movie on the lawn at Grigg’s Park. Uptown offers both options for a casual or fancy Friday night.

The Perfect Sunday

Sundays feel alive and restful in Uptown. Enjoy the fresh air with a multitude of outdoor activities. Go for a jog on the Katy trail, play in Grigg’s Park with your kiddos or pup, day-drink on an outdoor patio, or join an outdoor family yoga class.
