I am beyond pleased with this school and my kids' experiences there. The staff and resources are top-notch. I feel my children are very loved the second they walk into the doors and are greeted by the administrative staff every morning. The principal takes time to learn every child's name...and every parent's name as well! Every teacher my child has had has been beyond incredible as well, and my children are thriving academically and look forward to attending school every morning. I think the education they are receiving is on par with private schools and I could not be happier with this small, wonderful school!

I have looked over the comments and think the ones from 2006 are too old to know the reality of the school. The principal is great and her support staff is wonderful.. Your child will experience a warm and inviting atmosphere.my neice and nephew go to Henry Clay and Gandy. I love to go to their programs. They are happy, come from a wonderful family and live in a blue collar worker neighborhood with many children to play with after school. Are there problems? Please let me know of any school, home, family, state or country that does not have a problem! It takes work and communication. These people communicate, so talk to them, they are very friendly! I am just the aunt and I can see a happy and thriving environment! Try it, you may like it! Good luck with school and study!

We moved here 2 years ago and we are very happy with Henry Clay Elementary School. The entire staff functions as a team and the atmosphere is supportive, uplifting, and respectful. We have 2 kids there now, and our only complaint from them is how they will miss their teachers when the school year ends. Parent involvement is wonderful, the principal and assistant principal go out of their way to make every child know that they are looking out for them, the teachers are phenomenal, and the school nurse is a treasure. It isn't perfect, of course, and I'm sorry the other reviewer has had such a negative experience. I would recommend going to the principal with such concerns, as she is very effective.

I moved here a couple months ago and my daughters grades have dropped. There is also an issue with bullying here. My daughter has been called names that she has never even heard before, and I'm assuming the teachers are clueless to what's going on with this. I'm glad that she doesn't have to be at this school very long. I have a son that attends John M. Gandy Elementary and his grades have improved and he loves it. I don't understand how 2 schools in the same area can be so different.
