Freedom High School

Best public high school in all of Northern Virginia if you’re looking for a flat out good academic program with decent sports. It’s safe and the median students are high achievers. They will get a chance to go to good colleges.If you are a parent looking to have your high achieving child to continue his/her momentum, this is the school for them.

The principal has done a fabulous job with this school. In the last year he has replaced ineffective teachers, implemented many new programs, and has gotten our sports program off the ground. He is visible in the school and at all events. He cares about his students and their well being. I love the Charity Prom he instituted two years ago. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for the school in the upcoming years!

Looking to move to give my child a chance at and a positive experience at a different school. School leadership should be replaced

I think if your student is neurotypical this is an excellent school. If your student has an IEP, then you need to carefully watch to make sure it is being followed. Like all schools, it is hit or miss with teachers. The admin often does not give advanced notice when staff leave which can be difficult for students with IEP's.
