One child has had a good experience and the other has not. We are involved parents and have been disappointed by the responses and attention given to us. Additionally my child has been labeled by the staff and administration without actually getting to know them.

Our family has benefitted from KCES since the school's opening. I will be very sad when our last child graduates! We are so fortunate to be part of a school with so many caring and capable teachers and staff. One of the biggest strengths is the encouragement and participation of parents. The number of volunteer hours logged to support our children is so inspiring! I would recommend this school for any family looking not only for a great education, but a loving, family-oriented environment.

I have been very pleased with the attention my children have been given at Kersey Creek Elementary. I have had issues and special needs with both my children and they have been addressed completely and without bias. I have emailed the principal several times, and each time she has responded immediately and has met my every request. I am very happy with the school. The performance and attitude of my children are indicative of a school that promotes self esteem and encourages individuality and creates a positive atmosphere. Although one of my children is a little trying at times, he is treated with patience and respect as am I. The parent involvement is second to none and those parents who are involved are helping to complete the experience for my children. I would recommend this school to anyone, no matter the income range, ethnicity, background or level of learning ability.

Our experience with this school has not been the greatest. There is too much concentration on SOL's and not enough on the real life lessons every child needs to be a good, well-rounded member of society. My child is considered "average" according to the state, yet the county considers him "below average". I was dumbfounded to hear this! Therefore, your child can try his hardest and receive nothing but A's, B's, and the occasional C, but KCES will tell you he isn't up to their par and needs to be placed in a remedial class. There are some great teacher's here, but there are also some horrible teacher's that have absolutely NO business teaching a class. If you complain, you will not only be sorely disappointed by the lack of action taken by administration to solve the issues, your child will only be treated worse as a result. I've had two issues over the past 3 years that I have had to address but both times my concerns fell on deaf ears and my child suffered more as a result. I give KCES 3 stars because the curriculum does challenge my child to do his best and the majority of the staff is wonderful and caring. Unfortunately the few bad apples spoil the bunch.
