Education wise, this school would rate a 5 out of 10 from me. It's not the best but not the worst either. It's what your child makes of it and themselves. Sports wise? I would rate this school.a 3 out of 10. Prince George uses the good ole boy system, so military be warned...they choose locals over any military child no matter the ability. No one ever should expect favoritism just because military children bring in federal funds, but a fair chance would be nice. -A frustrated for her kids parent

If you actually read the Terms of Use for this website, it advises that you don't believe everything you read.... That being said, PGHS is a great school. I graduated from PGHS as a military student and had one of the best school experiences I could ask for. The teachers were top notch and the faculty as a whole are helpful and genuinely want students to succeed. I read several reviews before posting, and can honestly say that the negative ones are not accurate. I realize people occasionally will have bad experiences, but that should not impact the overall view of Prince George High School as a whole.

I graduated from PGHS and loved the school. I had to work hard, but it paid off as I understood how to work hard in college. Great school with a great academic program!

There are two sides to PGHS. There is the normal student, you know, half-interested, maybe wants to go to college. It is a decent school for these kids. If you have an honors student, this is hands down the best school in the area, including Chesterfield. The AP teachers are top of the line. I have spoken with many students who have graduated and gone to college (UVA, VT, GMU, VCU and JMU) and they ALL say they were better prepared than other students, especially in math and science. They have done a good job of getting teachers with advanced degrees and teachers who take teaching very seriously.
