Great diverse neighborhood school! Hidden gem in Chesterfield county.

This is our first year at Davis. We have a daughter in the first grade, and so far our experience has been good. Coming from a small private school for kindergarten, we were concerned about transitioning into public school. We have been very happy with her teacher and all the staff seems very plugged in with the kids. There are lots of opportunities to get involved with the PTA, and volunteering in the school. My daughter is very happy at school, and is enjoying the social aspects have a larger environment. There are 21 kids in her class; it would be nice if classes were a little bit smaller, or at least had an aide. They do have reading Specialists who help kids who need it. There is very little individual attention for kids who are not struggling. The main things our daughter complains about are noise levels in the classroom and during activities. Its a more chaotic environment than what she's used to, but she has adjusted, and is excelling academically. Teachers and staff really go out of their way to recognize and reward good behavior and achievement. Overall, for us, the pros outweigh the cons. Our daughter is learning to thrive in an environment that is not always perfect, but that is filled with teachers who are passionate and want to be there and classmates from all economic backgrounds.

The best School i put my children in!!!

I love it. Because AM Davis is the perfect school for my three children. The oldest one start fourth grade and five grade. My daughter is on fourth grade and my little one on second grade. The teachers are great especially Mrs. Ragland because she was my baby's teacher for two years on especial education. Thank you everyone for this awesome school and staff.
