Walden is a community centered around its amenities. Situated directly on Lake Conroe, the community boasts its own 536-slip marina and boat ramps, so residents can boat around the stunning 21,000-acre lake. At the Walden Yacht Club, residents can enjoy a junior Olympic-sized pool overlooking the lake, two kiddie pools, and a poolside restaurant, as well as the Commodore Dining Room for banquets and private rooms for meetings and parties. The community is also home to a private 18-hole golf course. The Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Course has been rated as the #1 Houston-area golf course by Golf Digest, and its signature 11th hole, a double dogleg par 5, has been named as one of the 500 World's Greatest Golf Holes by Golf Magazine. Other amenities include a 16-court tennis facility at the Walden Racquet Club, the state-of-the-art Walden Fitness Center, parks, sporting fields, and miles of hike and bike trails. Students at Walden can attend schools in the Montgomery Independent School District, including Madeley Ranch Elementary School, Montgomery Middle School, Montgomery Jr. High School, and Montgomery High School.
