Our daughter has attended North Lake since K5. Class sizes are small, and each teacher has been fantastic! The Superintendent (Liesl Ackley) knows all the students by name (most of their parents as well) and is involved in the community. More important than utilizing technology (like Chromebooks and Smartboards) is North Lake's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Program. I was amazed last year when students in EVERY grade participated in an all school STEAM Night, where parents and siblings could view all of the projects and actively participate in many of them.I (along with so many other parents) were thrilled with the planning and coordination to make North Lake School safe this fall in light of COVID-19. There have not been outbreaks as feared, and students attend in person every day and that is the goal for the rest of this school year. Parents also have the option to have their child(ren) learn online.Art and music are also emphasized beginning in 4K. Students in all grades are strongly encouraged to participate in 'Literacy Lights The Night' each February.. where they write a story, read it out loud to other students during the day, and read to parents and siblings in the event. What a great way to help children learn to write and become more comfortable reading out loud in front of other people. The reality is that no school is perfect. This is true for North Lake Elementary as well. However, the administration and school board constantly seek to improve the weaknesses they can control. Bullying is one of the most difficult, as there are 2 sides to every story (which are often inconsistent), and students & their parents need to be treated with respect. In cases where bullying is identified, it is swiftly and professionally dealt with.

The superintendent/principal is running that school into the ground! The kids are out of control and the threats being made to the school are not being shared with the parents! The principal is in way over her head and has no experience and it shows! Sad to see this once wonderful school going down the drain so fast! Steer clear from this school!

We have open enrolled our kids here. The class sizes are small, the teachers really show they care. As someone who attended another Arrowhead School when I was in school I can honestly say the class size makes a huge difference. Also, my child has attended school's out of Wisconsin to make a comparison to and North Lake has been great. It's really comforting to have your children in a school where you can feel they are safe and that their education is the main concern of the staff.

Love our school. Feels like an extension of our family. We moved into this district 3+ years ago and have been very happy. My daughter was borderline special needs and staff was able to work with our family to completely meet her needs and she has exceeded all expectations.
