This school is awful! My child fell behind in reading last year. My husband and I brought it up to the teacher and she basically told us she was aware, but our daughter did not meet the needs of the severe cases of children and because of the limited resources, WE would have to seek out a private tutor! Are you kidding? The school "counselor" needs to be removed. She enrolled one of our children in private sessions with other children SHE deemed qualified for behavior issues or experienced traumatic events. Our child was taken out of class and sat through group counseling sessions with other children, some of who talked about abuse they have experienced and divorce. He sat through several of these sessions without our knowledge or consent. I have never heard of such inappropriate conduct in my life! My in-laws just sat through the spring 2014 singing concert. I was so embarrassed that my child was taught how to do the chicken dance and "play" a cardboard guitar (some kids were given a real instrument and some fake). Put more money into my child's academics and less into useless "counselors" and "music" programs!

This school is full of above and beyond teachers. The principal himself also cares very greatly about the students. You can see the genuine care and joy on these teacher's faces when they work with the kids. And my boys just love every one! I am also very impressed with the resources this school allocates. It has great special programs for children with "above" or "below" average learning. Which is something that many public schools lack. This school's special education dept is TOP notch! Mrs. Paulin is FANTASTIC! I have been VERY impressed!
