2/10. very unpleased with the little communication to parents. ignorant teachers and school does little change to when you call to report problem.

There are some really good teachers, many mediocre teachers (and some really poor ones). Switched Guidance Counselors because the first one not only provided wrong information but could not even be bothered to answer questions or emails, except if you were a student he coached or a sports star. Classes, even AP ones, are not that challenging and do not have a lot of homework. If the teacher is good the class in engaging. If not, be prepared to be bored. Large class sizes, weak band program, and some really bad teachers who seem to think the subject will teach itself. Extracurricular activities including some sports seem to be very disorganized. In retrospect, wished we had choiced to a different school.

Terrible. I went there for my freshman year and half of my sophomore and ended up transferring to eAchieve Academy because it was so terrible. The teachers couldn't care less about whether you learn anything- they are entirely concerned with making sure your child passes the class so they don't get a bad rating. I was bullied by my math teacher, and my friends walked out of English every week crying because of the treatment they received. The guidance counselors and by far the worst. No help whatsoever from them. The music program is laughable. I was in SWAP (the high band) and competed in the marching band and we lost every time. Not due to lack of talent (there were amazing kids), but due to the lack of organization from the band director. I am very surprised at the ratings from students being so good. Don't be fooled- I am a straight A, AP honors student who got a C because the teacher decided he didn't like me. The students who have rated it so highly are freshman who have only been there for a few months. Wait until the novelty of high school wears off, and check back to see their new horrendous reviews. I can't believe this school is even running. It deserves a 2 out of ten.

I'm not sure why the ratings are so negative about this school. I'm currently a freshman and am thriving in this environment. I'm in all honors/pre-ap classes right now and I couldn't ask for better teachers. They are all progressive in technological innovation and are genuinely interested in all of us as students. Of the three Waukesha high schools, South is moving forward the most with academic success and personalized learning. Our principle rocks and our facilities are all being remodeled, along with new motivated teachers and plenty of extracurriculars. What's not to like? South also has the Engineering and Health Academies(I'm in the health), with more STEM based learning and an emphasis on each career field. Overall, if you're a serious, motivated student, you'll do well here. It's true South has a minority population(which sadly brings down the test scores and some of the ratings on here) but it's being worked on. To sum it all up, it's a great school and if you live/are relocating to Waukesha, I'd highly suggest it. I have friends who attend the other two high schools and aren't nearly as happy as I am at South, so check it out! *PS I'm in the Health Academy
