Wilmot High School

My son has Asperger's and might experience "bullying" in other schools, but Wilmot High School has been a very accepting climate. You expect teachers to be able to work with special needs children, but the fellow students have been very good as well.

I was a student at Wilmot for 4 years. I loved that school. I learned so much from all of my teachers. There wasn't any violence or problems. There was a fight every once in awhile, but that was it. We took pride in our school. I want my son to go to this school when he gets older. When I graduated I had colleges that wanted to give me academic scholarships. I had a blast in this school!

Academic Decathlon team best in Wisconsin in 2014 and 2nd in the nation. Being national Runner-up in the Academic Decathlon competition is a very impressive feat. Wilmot beat every school in Wisconsin (regardless of size) then went on to take 2nd in the nation in the "medium-sized school" division. This school is definitely on the rise and has an ever-growing AP program. I am also impressed by Project Lead the Way, a national pre-engineering program which Wilmot offers classes through. Not only does Wilmot offer pre-engineering classes but they also have a Biomedical Sciences curriculum through Project Lead the Way.

Good students do well, poor students, the ones who need extra help, will be pushed under the rug, (sent to APEX or Truval), and forgotten. The Principals will be secretly hopeing the poor students quit school....Don't want to ruin the "top school" rating!
