SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN AND DON'T BUY IN WINSTON TOWERS #4 (by a new resident)

Antoinette G
TheI have been shocked at the horrible behavior of the front office and the board that supervises them. Additionally, the ridiculous rules and the constant threats make for a very unpleasant atmosphere. The front office people are miserable and do nothing but complain about the terrible things the residents do. They are openly hostile and uncooperative. I've heard them yell at residents that "I'm too busy to help you, I don't work for the residents, the board told me I could say that". If you order products online, you're going to have a big problem. Because the package room is ONLY OPEN BETWEEN 9-5 M-F. IT IS CLOSED ALL OTHER TIMES. OH, I ALMOST FORGOT. THE OFFICE CAN LOCK IT ANYTIME THEY WANT. They actually said this to me: "WE HAVE TO CLOSE THE OFFICE/PKG RM NOW BC WE'RE BUSY COLLECTING EVIDENCE FOR CORPORATE FOR THE LAWSUITS AGAINST THE BLDG" That's just normal for WT#4. I'd never heard of an office being closed whenever the manager had more important things to do (defend against lawsuits???) Don't be fooled into thinking it's a dog friendly building either. You are not allowed to walk your dog ANYWHERE on the property, including ALL THE BEAUTIFUL GREEN SPACE BETWEEN THE 5 BLDGS. If you do, you are immediately reported and fined. Can't walk your dog through the front door, can't do this, can't do that, etc. A parking space does NOT come w the purchase of a condo. You have to get on a waiting list. Once you rent a pkg space, you can ONLY park your ONE car that you register for that space. Any other car will be TOWED!. So if you borrow or rent a different car, DON'T park it in your own rented space. The office mgr bragged that they are constantly checking the cameras to find cars to tow. WE WILL TOW AND WE WILL FINE!!!: The motto of WT#4!! You can find free parking on Kedzie, but if you have a dog you are NOT ALLOWED TO WALK THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS W IT. THIS MEANS A 5 MINUTE WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND TO THE BACK OF THE BLDG, AND DON'T WALK ON THE GRASS!! Bc you can't walk on any grassy area (all that beautiful green space) w a dog, whether or not you plan to p/u the poop. NO dogs on the Grass!! It's such a waste!! So no one is ever on the grassy areas, they're huge and empty. There are so many problems it's hard to pick out the most absurd ones. So why did I buy here? I was desperate and I had a dog. I regret it now. I introduced myself to a very nice maintenance guy who told me that he'd been working here about a year and was quitting very soon, just like all the previous maintenance men, because the people who work for the bldg are so mean and unpleasant. If you use Amazon a lot, don't move here. The office mgr spent ten minutes during the "interview" telling me how terrible Amazon is and how they just throw pkgs everywhere? I soon found out why. Because whenever the office decides they're too busy, or it's outside of office hours, the poor delivery people have to buzz at the back door, and then wait until a maintenance man has the time to show physically show up and open the door. So the delivery people drop and run. So I said, "why not put a big metal cart out back at least to collect the pkgs". However, this bldg is not into solutions, only complaints. I just got the same lecture AGAIN about the terrible delivery people. This bldg is NOT solution-oriented. Their goal is to basically threaten everybody into submission by constantly warning residents that they will be FINED, FINED, FINED.
