Around Woodtrace

At the center of Woodtrace's recreation center is its well-appointed clubhouse. It includes a beautifully decorated meeting room and a kitchen, making it ideal for club meetings or neighborhood get-togethers. Behind the clubhouse is the pool with 5 swim lanes and plenty of space to sunbathe. The center backs up to Lake Woodtrace, a real spring-fed lake, where residents can fish off the dock or put in their kayaks for an easy paddle. Woodtrace is served by the Tomball Independent School District. The district is ranked highly by several school rating services, usually in the top 10% for most categories. It administers to 20 elementary, intermediate and secondary schools and features the Tombal Star Academy, an early college high school where students can earn an Associates of Arts degree.

Woodtrace hosts a number of seasonal and holiday events throughout the year. There's an Easter Egg hunt in the Spring and a Santa Stop in December. A unique event is the annual kid's triathlon, where kids aged 5 to 15 bike, run and swim through the community in a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event. Though Tomball may be considered a small town by some, it hosts quite a few fun events. There's the Honky Tonk Music Festival, Memorial Day Chili Cook-Off, and July 4th Street Festival, but the marquee event is Tomball's German Heritage Festival which is held in March. Residents go all out with lederhosen, oompah music, and delicious authentic German cuisine. Tomball also shouldn't be overlooked for nightlife. As northwest Houston continues to grow, brewpubs, wineries and a fantastic array of restaurants are popping up all over.

Beautiful neighborhood but needs a HOA

Michelle C
The neighborhood itself is very well planned. With walking trails, a nice lake stocked with fish and beautiful club house. The trees and nature are awesome. The house selections are good too. Love the schools. We have lived here for two years and have enjoyed it. But over the past few months things have gotten really weird. Considering our dues are $1200 a years. I feel below is ridiculous and very poor management. I actually don't have access to my some of neighborhood amenities? 1. No life guard at the pool? 2. Over $600 to rent club house for parties 3. No active HOA - management company runs.
