Since summertime in Las Vegas lasts far longer than it does in other cities, free evening movies are a near-regular fixture in this town. Las Vegas has no shortage of free movies happening all summer long in addition to the $1 weekend movies at several local cinemas and low-cost dive-in movies like the Monday night summer movie showing by Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan.

Whether residents want to take the kids to see their favorite animated feature or simply kick back with popcorn and a movie for date night, there are more than enough options for everyone. Here’s our guide to Las Vegas neighborhoods with free movies this summer.

Summerlin

Stop by Downtown Summerlin at sundown on Friday nights from July 27 through August 31 for Summer Screen. Park Centre Drive closes down to make way for an inflatable screen in the midst of nearby shopping and restaurants. Stake out a spot early, and don’t forget to bring chairs, a blanket, and your own food to enjoy the family-friendly movies. Film choices are subject to change, but “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is slated to finish the season.

Another free event in Summerlin is Tivoli Village’s Vintage & Vino Movie Night held on Mondays at 7 p.m. To enjoy the entertainment, each guest must purchase at least one drink. Popcorn and candy is also available at Cork and Thorn, a flower and wine bar revered for its regular evening event calendar that also includes wine tastings and live music.

Green Valley Ranch

On Saturday nights at The District in Green Valley Ranch, patrons can enjoy an outdoor movie on the green next to Whole Foods and West Elm starting at 7:30 p.m. Movie choices range from “Guardians of the Galaxy” to “My Little Pony”, so check their Instagram to see what’s playing before snagging your spot next to the screen.

Paradise

Paradise is a surprisingly good neighborhood to find free movies, since Town Square hosts Movies on the Green every Thursday at sundown for the months of July and August. Located right in the middle of the shopping center, this event features rated G and PG films on a 25-by-35-foot screen.

The Strip

The Fashion Show Mall on The Strip hosts the Sweetest Little Movie Series in June and July. The upside of this summer movie series is that it’s in an air-conditioned atrium that still retains a park-like atmosphere. Movies are played on multiple screens starting at 6 p.m., and they’re fun for the entire family with choices like “The LEGO Ninjago Movie” and “Peter Rabbit.”

Downtown

Sunset Cinema Night at Downtown Container Park is the premiere place in Downtown to find a free movie for the whole family. Every Thursday at sundown (or roughly 8p.m.), Container Park presents a free movie. Movies range from “The Little Mermaid”to “Justice League.” The full list of upcoming films can be found here

Henderson

Visit Henderson on Friday nights during the summer at 8 p.m. for several Movie in the Park  evenings at various local parks. Movies, like “Moana” and “Toy Story,” are shown on an inflatable screen, and snacks are available for purchase.
