Nashville celebrities from the iconic Minnie Pearl to Kenny Rogers have often put their names on their own businesses. Today’s Nashville celebrities also own businesses ranging from bars to boutiques. Check out these eight celebrity-owned Nashville businesses—you might just catch a glimpse of a celebrity at work.

Scott Hamilton Academy

The Scott Hamilton Academy at the Ford Center is the home for Hamilton’s Nashville ice skating classes. From “Learn to Skate” sessions to figure skating and hockey, the Olympic gold medalist often steps onto the ice with the academy’s new and advanced skaters to coach and guide. The academy’s mission is to create a joyous environment where skating is available to people of all ages, abilities, and descriptions. Personal Nashville celeb story: my kids don’t skate at his academy, but they did meet Hamilton and his kids at Gymboree.

Draper James

A signature blue and white striped building in 12 South is Nashville resident Reese Witherspoon’s business venture. Window shopping and Instagramming at Draper James is a favorite in this neighborhood. The Nashville branch of the store not only offers up the actor’s signature “Southern Belle” clothing line to tourists and locals, it also features book signings, home goods, and trunk shows. Launched by Witherspoon as a way to honor her grandparents, the store focuses on “gracious Southern living” all right in the heart of bustling 12 South.

White’s Mercantile and H. Audreys

When you’ve got friends in Nashville, you need to visit White's Mercantile in Nashville and Franklin and H. Audreys in Green Hills. Owned by Hank William Jr.’s daughter Holly Williams, these two boutiques offer up an eclectic blend of clothing, gourmet foods, art, and home goods. This is not her daddy’s store though: while she is that Hank Williams Jr.’s daughter, she brings her own style back with her from her own tours that have established her as a talent in her own right. Billed as “a general store for the modern day tastemaker,” the three shops have even caught the attention of Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop website.

Ice skating and shopping at celebrity outlets can really help you work up an appetite. Nashville celebrities also venture into restaurant and bar spaces with everything from Southern standards to innovative music venues.

Nashville Underground

Owned by singer-songwriter brothers Gavin DeGraw and Joey DeGraw, Nashville Underground’s bar menu is too good to be kept underground. With plates including southern fried green tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, a “crispy meatball,” or Lynne’s Truffle Mac and Cheese (topped with Nashville hot chicken if your tongue can handle it), there’s a variety of dining options combined with music and people-watching. Billed as Nashville’s highest rooftop bar, the Underground features great music and food. Top off a night of music and dining with some old-fashioned Southern banana pudding or a Goo Goo Cluster Brownie Sundae.

FGL House

You might not expect “Southern-style food with a California flair” but that’s exactly what Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard bring to their FGL (Florida Georgia Line) House. Cruise on over to this bar named after the pair’s band, Florida Georgia Line. You only have to cross the Tennessee state line to enjoy gluten-free options, hillbilly surf-and-turf, and staples like steaks and seafood. Try a Sunday visit for their famous Sundaze brunch.

Adele’s Nashville

Celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman adds his signature culinary flair to his Adele’s Nashville restaurant in The Gulch. Winner of a 2018 OpenTable Diners’ Choice award, this newcomer to the Nashville restaurant scene offers up an innovative Sunday brunch buffet with full lunch, dinner, and dessert menus that reflect the eclectic feel of The Gulch while bringing in familiar Southern soul.

Redneck Riviera

Serving “Redneck Jerky,” nachos, and cold brews, country singer John Rich’s Nashville watering hole, Redneck Riviera, is a recent addition to the Nashville bar scene. The tongue-in-cheek menu features a “daily soup” that’s really just a shot of Redneck Riviera American Blended Whiskey. Located in the middle of the Downtown Nashville music scene, Rich’s bar features live performances by himself as well as his country music friends. After you eat, take home a bag of Redneck Jerky for the road.

The George Jones Smokehouse

Most Nashville celebrity businesses don’t include their names in the title. The George Jones in Downtown is an exception. Created after the death of the Nashville legend, this memorial to the singer features a restaurant, bar, and museum devoted to his memory. Explore memorabilia, enjoy some barbecue or a signature cocktail, and look out across the city from the rooftop deck.
