The city of Fremont was named the least-stressed city in the nation in a study by WalletHub. However, it was far from the only Bay Area city on the list for least- and most-stressed hotspots.

The study looked at 150 cities across America and compared debt load, divorce rates, suicide rates, work hours, and other factors to determine stress levels. Using a point system, total scores were tallied based on overall work stress, financial stress, family stress, and health and safety stress. Looking at California alone, the most-stressed city in the Golden State was San Bernardino, which ranked seventh overall.

Per the study, Fremont offers the least stress in the financial, family, and health categories, but was actually among the 20 most-stressed cities when it came to work-related issues.

Taking an in-depth look at the data, San Francisco had one of the highest median credit scores in the nation as well as the least affordable housing. San Jose and Fremont made it the top five in lowest divorce rates while Irvine had the second-lowest crime rate in the nation.
