It was only a matter of time before something rose on the former home of the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Back in June, we learned that the former music venue was being demolished to make way for a mixed-use development. At the time we were told it would be called Sunset Time, but Urbanize is reporting that the official name of the complex will be Pendry Hotel and Residences.

Cranes are rising to begin vertical construction on the project, which calls for 49 hotel rooms, 40 condo residences, and 25,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space set to include four bars and three restaurants. The $240-million, two-building project will also include a seven-level parking garage underground that could hold up to 400 vehicles. A landscaped motor court “piazza” will fill the space between the hotel and condominium towers.

Combined Properties and AECOM Capital are developing the project together while EYRC Architects is designing the complex. The project has a completion date of late 2019.
