If you are planning to make a big real estate investment this year, you might want to consider Dallas. The Texas city tops Forbes' recent list of Best Buy Cities, which ranks 20 real estate markets that are affordable and are predicted to see growth in 2017.
Dallas tops the list with its average home price of $233,000, which is up 3.9 percent from last year. The Forbes list draws from the company Local Market Monitor reports, which predicts home prices in Dallas will increase 31 percent by 2020 thanks to a 3.9 percent job growth in the past year and 6.2 percent population growth in the last three years.
Other cities in Texas also made the list, with Forth Worth at no. 9 and San Antonio at 20.
Overall, the South dominated the 2017 list: Other markets to invest in include Jacksonville, Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia.
