As previously reported, Facebook had a soft opening of their facility located in AllianceTexas in May.

The company filed permits for two new data center halls at the site on State Highway 170. The newest round of construction is estimated to add more than $365 million in value.

The Facebook complex in Fort Worth encompasses a total of 150 acres. When complete, its value will be greater than $1 billion dollars. It is already the largest concentration of computing power in the state of Texas.

Prominent North Texas developer Hillwood Properties sold the site to Facebook back in 2015.

According to a 2015 Texas Tribune story, Fort Worth was chosen from among 220 cities to be the site for the Facebook data center. Favorable tax incentives were credited as a major part of the reason for the selection.
