Last week, the City of Glendale announced its partnership with the Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California after a master plan of their joint project was revealed through city documents. Since then, new renderings for the future Armenian American Museum have been released, illustrating a huge departure from the park’s currently open greenspace.

According to Urbanize, the 30,000-square-foot museum will rise along Colorado Street. When it’s finally completed, the cultural building will serve as an education and enrichment center for the community, aiming to empower and enlighten both locals and visitors.

Alajajian Marcoosi Architects, a local design firm with Armenian roots, has been tapped to design the project. The museum’s current modern grooved designs were meant to mimic rock formations, as well as mountains from Armenia and Verdugo Mountains nearby Glendale.

Since the museum will cover up the park’s existing greenspace, redeveloped designs for the project will also take advantage of currently unused pockets and expand the property by approximately 47,600 square feet.

At its completion, the museum will feature exhibitions, a theater, and an educational center for the public.

Although the Kardashian family has been drumming up support for the museum, it’s unclear if the museum will feature an exhibit for the famous reality stars.
