Late last year, actor Bill Murray and his siblings announced plans to open a restaurant in the Chicagoland area. Now “Caddyshack” fans can rejoice — the plans are becoming a reality. Murray Bros. Caddyshack Restaurant will open its doors in December at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Convention Center in Rosemont.

The flagship restaurant opened in 2001 in St. Augustine, Fla., and having grown up in Wilmette, the Murray family decided to open another location close to home. (The six Murray brothers and three sisters released a statement saying that Rosemont is “close enough.”) With 6,000 square feet of dining space, the restaurant will serve lunch and dinner and employ about 100 people.

The Caddyshack Restaurant is an ode to the family-inspired movie based on Bill’s older brother Brian’s experience working as a caddy at Indian Hill Club in Winnetka. And fans of the classic movie will be pleased with the golf-centric menu and golf simulator. The space will be a great place to catch “da Bears” game and grab some Chicago-style cuisine like Italian beef and hot dogs.

Co-founder of the brand Andy Murray said in a statement that the space will appeal to all generations, from baby boomers to millennials. The golf theme is something near and dear to the family, and the intention is to present it in such a way that appeals to avid golfers and families alike.
