The scores are officially in for LA’s most family-friendly neighborhoods. After evaluating neighborhoods around the Los Angeles area based on variables such as overall housing affordability, quality of schools, average household size, crime rate, and access to recreational activities, the real estate brokerage website Owners.com released their final rankings. According to their data, the most affordable neighborhoods in LA for growing families are Windsor Hills, Leimert Park, and Ladera Heights

With way-below average home prices and the neighborhood’s overall proximity to Downtown Los Angeles, Culver City and Fox Hills, Windsor Hills came in at the top of the list. The quiet and almost hidden community is a central location for city dwellers. The local walking path, Rueben Ingold Parkway, is perhaps its most popular public space. The average home price here currently checks in at $358,800.

The South LA neighborhood of Leimert Park clocked in at second place. The low-key community was also recently crowned “Los Angeles Neighborhood of the Year” by Curbed LA. Known for having a close-knit culture and community, locals in the neighborhood often come together for events such as live performances, festivals, and the Leimert Park Art Walk. The average home price here is $443,800.

Conveniently located towards LA’s Westside, Ladera Heights was ranked the third-most affordable region on the list. There are a variety of homes available, ranging from condominiums to single-family homes. It offers lots of activity options, from shopping to hiking to fishing and more. The average home price is around $749,500.
