Tucked into southern Cypress and sandwiched between the many lakes of the region, the master-planned community Miramesa is planning to expand. As reported by the Houston Business Journal, this community is planning to expand by more than 50 percent. Land Tejas, one of the most prominent developers in the Houston area, has built communities across the city and surrounding counties. Now, it has acquired 320 acres of land to add to the current 600 acres of Miramesa.

To date, Land Tejas has either developed or started development on almost 1,600 lots across the community. With the addition of the new land, the community will soon include another 900 home lots. Because the developer acquired the new land recently, builders haven’t been chosen yet. However, Land Tejas intends to start construction by 2019, according to the Business Journal report.

Miramesa’s Amenities

Miramesa's recreation center with pool

Miramesa was the most recent of Land Tejas’ master-planned communities built around Cypress. Opened in 2015, the community has recreation centers—featuring pools, volleyball and tennis courts, and covered pavilions—in both the Stone Gate and Canyon Lakes West neighborhoods. Also, Miramesa houses the Sterling Country Club as well as plenty of smaller parks, wading pools, and walking trails across the community.

For residents who want abundant shopping or dining, there’s always the option of heading to Cypress or Houston. The Cypress Towne Center is a simple drive up Fry Road, and from the Towne Center, residents can also head south along Highway 290 if they want to get to Houston. You can reach Greater Heights and Galleria within a half hour and also drive into Downtown Houston in under 40 minutes.

Homes in Miramesa come mostly in the traditional style. These homes begin as low as $244,000 and range as high as about $500,000, though the median sale price sits at $295,238. Floor layouts start out at about 1,400 square feet and go up to roughly 5,000 square feet, with many larger homes including up to five bedrooms.
