As part of the ongoing Los Angeles River revitalization, the riverbank could potentially see several new bridges to connect the two sides. One of those bridges is set to link Griffith Park to Glendale if a June ballot measure goes through.

Curbed LA spoke with California State Assemblymember Laura Friedman about the measure, and she emphasized the importance of connecting Glendale’s residents to the other side of the bank safely. The bridge would be for pedestrian and bicycle use, rather than cars.

Proposals to make the river and surrounding areas more accessible have popped up in the form of a $19 million project at Elysian Park and an additional small bridge near Cypress Park. Renderings from seven different architecture firms see additional enhancements including cafes, bike paths, play areas, and additional public spaces also improving the long-ignored river.
