Texas developer Robert Zamorano is not only bringing a new level of high-end, high-rise living to Downtown Fort Worth, his brainchild will be a gateway to Panther Island according to the Dallas Business Journal.

"Our goal is to answer the city's demand for a luxury residential condominium project like The Worth," Robert Zamorano, president of Houston-based Zamco Properties LLC, said in a statement. "It is currently the only high-rise project of its kind planned for Fort Worth with an exclusive location that can't be replicated in the entire city.”

Zamorano initially planned the project as a 24-story condo tower, but Fort Worth’s design review board recently gave the thumbs-up for six additional floors.

Bordered by North Henderson Street, West Bluff Street, Mills Street, and West Peach Street, The Worth will be located next to the Henderson Street Bridge, which is one of three landmark bridges currently under construction to connect Downtown to Panther Island.

Including dramatic window walls, spacious balconies, and glittering skyline views, the 135 condos in the 30-story tower will blend contemporary and classic styles with chic designer finishes. In addition to sculptures, water features, landscaped gathering spaces, owners’ lounges, and a fitness center, the amenity deck will contain a resort-style pool, spa, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen.

The design phase is still underway by Dallas-based GDA Architects, whose work portfolio includes Museum Tower in the Dallas Arts District, Residences at the Stoneleigh near Turtle Creek, and Windrose Tower at Legacy West in Plano. Construction is expected to begin around year-end or early 2019, and Al Coker & Associates is handling condo sales and marketing.

Located north of Downtown, Panther Island is a premier development site that Fort Worth officials pitched to Amazon for its $5 billion HQ2

Panther Island is a regional hub for outdoor entertainment, recreation, concerts, festivals, adventure activities, and year-round special events. Anchored by Panther Island Pavilion (PIP), the venue offers a sandy beach that’s open to the public and stand-up paddle board, kayak, and canoe rentals through Backwoods Paddlesports located on-site. Whether a music event is the Rockin’ the River summer concert series or a festival with simultaneous performances, PIP is equipped with the only waterfront stage in Texas, a main stage, and two band shells.

Other favorite attractions include Panther Island Brewing, Coyote Drive-In Movie Theater, Fort Worth’s Fourth – an Independence Day festival that culminates with a fireworks display over the river — and Panther Island Ice, the city’s only outdoor ice skating rink.

Panther Island is transforming into a model live, work, and play community. According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the 800-acre island on the Trinity River will rival the city’s central business district in size when completed with urban waterways, up to 10,000 residential units, and over 4.4 million square feet of retail, restaurant, and office space added to the mix.
