Super Bowl LI is about to descend on Houston, TX and 140,000 out-of-towners are expected to arrive with it. Between the sheer number of fans as well as the always-exorbitant ticket prices (currently average more than $4,500 on the secondary market), it’s unlikely that most Houstonians will be attending the big game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons in NRG Stadium.

So where should people in Houston gather to watch the Super Bowl locally? Neighborhoods.com decided to find out. To do this, we looked at some of the most important criteria that goes into having the ideal Super Bowl Sunday and scored each neighborhood based on four sets of criteria.

  1. Number of neighborhood sports bars (Yelp)
  2. Number of pizza & wings restaurants (Yelp)
  3. Number of liquor stores/supermarkets (Yelp)
  4. Number of food delivery options within 45 minutes (GrubHub)

What we discovered is that locals (and visitors without tickets) would be wise to congregate in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, followed closely by Downtown and Westchase District.
