Lehigh Hanson is submitting a revised plan to the city of Mira Mesa next month for the master planned community called 3Roots San Diego located south of Mira Mesa Boulevard between Camino Ruiz and Camino Santa Fe. Per the San Diego Union-Tribune, the proposal calls for 1,800 new residences.

The 1,800 units would include 195 single-family homes and 520 small-lot houses as well as 745 condos and apartments. The first homes are expected to be completed by 2021, just in time for the San Diego Trolley’s Blue Line, which is scheduled to extend through the area.

Plans also call for a 25-acre community park, expected to include both soccer and baseball fields. There will be 205 acres of open space, and there are plans to restore Carroll Canyon Creek and include extensive walking and bike trails.

To field the additional traffic, the plan also proposes new roads built near Carroll Canyon Road that would connect to the San Diego Trolley line. Plans also call for a 1.5-acre transit center to serve as headquarters for buses, shuttles, ride-sharing, and delivery services.
