We already knew that Mesa’s master-planned community Eastmark is on pace to be Arizona’s top-selling for the third-consecutive year. Now we know it’s not that far off from the top of the national list as well.

Citing a mid-year report released by real estate firm RLCO, Street Scout notes that Eastmark is sixth overall on the list of best-selling master-planned communities nationwide.

What’s really shocking is the fact that they’ve already sold 502 homes in 2017, which is the same number of homes sold there in all of 2016. Dea McDonald, Eastmark general manager, told Street Scout that he credits a new slew of affordable homes to the rapid rise in sales. Smaller, new homes started at $199,000, compared to previously available homes that start for more than $300,000.

There probably won’t be much of a slowdown in sales anytime soon. The community is only built to 30 percent, totaling 3,500 homes. Zoned for 15,000, Eastmark will have 20 neighborhoods, an active-adult community, and a gated neighborhood by year’s end.

McDonald notes to Street Scout that “80 percent” of the people moving to Eastmark already lived in the East Valley. Their moves could be motivated by the thriving community, new homes, and amenities.

Eastmark currently includes 25 neighborhood parks, including the Eastmark Great Park, which will be renovated from its current 14 acres to a 90-acre green space in the near future. It already includes a splash pad, amphitheater, lake, and diner.

Aside from Eastmark, there were other East Valley communities on the best-selling master-planned communities list. Peoria’s Vistancia ranked 17th with 274 homes constructed in the first half of 2017, Buckeye’s Verrado ranked 26th with 228 homes, and Goodyear’s Estrella is in the 29th spot with 214 sales.
