These days, you probably need an internet connection to do your job. And if you only need an internet connection, you can almost work from anywhere.

Maybe you’re a remote employee working from Magic City even though your company is headquartered in New York or San Francisco. Maybe you’re a freelancer with a flexible schedule who gets a little too distracted working from home. Or maybe you’re in the middle of starting up your startup. No matter what your reason for looking for a coworking space, Miami has you more than covered.

The coworking office trend has taken hold in Miami—the Miami Herald recently called it a boom [www.miamiherald.com/news/business/article201883369.html]—and there’s a lot more to choose from than just WeWork (although we have quite a few WeWorks, too). Keep reading for some standout coworking spaces in the Miami area.

Downtown

Glistening skyscrapers, coastal views, and lots of daytime bustle make downtown a smart choice for taking care of business.

Mindwarehouse

The name sounds like the latest ambient music artist or Spotify station, but Mindwarehouse is actually a zen coworking space to help you get in the creative groove. In addition to equipped coworking spaces, they also feature rotating works from local emerging and veteran artists. The artwork changes every eight weeks, so it’s almost like having your own private museum exhibition at the office.

StartHub

Not sure on the whole coworking thing? StartHub is a great place to start: They offer a free, 7-day trial to help you get a sense of the vibe and gauge your own productivity levels. And if you’ve already gotten used to working at home but want to lend more legitimacy to your business and brand, they also offer their virtual office subscription, giving you access to a coveted Downtown Miami address without having to move so much as a notebook.

CityDesk

A light, bright space with a minimalist aesthetic, CityDesk is budget-friendly and offers rentals right down to the hour. Sustainable design elements and ergonomic chairs help you get in a productive zone. Need a break? Pet the friendly office cat who patrols the premises.

Wynwood

Do you describe yourself as a creativepreneur? You’ll thrive amid Wynwood’s younger crowd and artsy vibe at these coworking spaces.

The LAB Miami

The LAB Miami describes itself as a creative campus for entrepreneurs and innovators. You’ll find everyone from freelancers to nonprofit organizations at the LAB, working together in a warm, industrial-style space—and no, that’s not an oxymoron. Pops of color and natural textures like wood balance out the exposed ceilings and cement floors of this converted warehouse. But it doesn’t stop at easy-on-the-eyes design. The LAB features work perks like tech support, call rooms, kitchens, and even a bike-share. They also have parking!

Carbon Wynwood

Find work-work balance at Carbon Wynwood—this sleek coworking space offers freedom of choice for its resident freelancers and entrepreneurs. Work alone, work together, or “strike a harmonious balance between the two,” according to its website. Amid slick and minimalist confines, Carbon also has an old-school blackboard and chalk for scrawling out ideas and maybe a few doodles.

Midtown

The creative vibes from Wynwood and the nearby Design District extend into Midtown.

Büro

Büro has several locations in Miami, but its Midtown space (3250 NE 1st Ave.) is a convenient choice for those seeking Wynwood’s artsy vibe without getting too hipster. Or, pick from locations in Coconut Grove, MiMo, South Beach, and South Miami. Aesthetics-wise, it’s not as stunning as, say, WeWork (more on that later). But it’s more affordable and just as effective, boasting shared common spaces, state-of-the-art conference rooms, kitchens, coffee bars, networking events, and even happy hours. Büro’s tagline is pretty enticing, too: they “want to make Mondays as exciting as Fridays.” If they can even halfway succeed at that, many Miamians will be sold.

Tedge

In a sea of ultra-modern coworking office options, Tedge is refreshing aesthetically. It’s a warmer, earthier take on the coworking trend: think fiddle leaf figs, wooden desks, weekly yoga sessions, and plenty of succulents. If you’re going to spend your day working, you might as well work somewhere calming and beautiful. Bonus: they boast “insanely fast fiber cable internet.”

Brickell

Miami’s financial epicenter of the city is a good place to focus on getting that paper.

WeWork

WeWork, the coworking pioneer with offices globally, has four locations in Miami. Find them in Brickell City Centre, on Lincoln Road, in Coral Gables, and downtown. WeWork stokes the creative fire with seriously slick interiors and beautiful workspaces, as well as a slew of key amenities—think printing, private phone booths, high-speed wi-fi, and, perhaps most important, unlimited coffee. The city also recently announced a referral program offering discounted rates at WeWork Miami locations. We’re partial to the Brickell location for its gorgeous design, natural light, and views for days.

Coral Gables

Step outside Miami proper to take a breather (while still getting the job done).

Pipeline

Pipeline is a mostly-Floridian coworking space with locations in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, and—oddly— Philadelphia. In the Miami area, Pipeline has outposts in Doral, Brickell, and Coral Gables, the latter of which is just steps from shopping and dining (makes for a fun lunch break). They offer part-time flex-space options in addition to full-time rentals and are open 24/7 if the mood strikes or if you’ve had too much of the free, unlimited coffee. The Brickell office has a midcentury modern vibe with striking design elements like bold yellow chairs. The Doral and Coral Gables offices feature a similarly chic look.
