D.R. Horton recently announced that construction is underway on Horse Creek Ridge, a sprawling master-planned community in the northern San Diego County city of Fallbrook.

Located close to the point where the I-15 crosses with Pala Road, plans for Horse Creek Ridge call for seven distinct neighborhoods to be spread throughout the 396-acre site. Five neighborhoods will consist of single-family homes while the other two will feature condo communities. Homes will be built to include energy-saving features such as LED lighting and tankless water heaters as well as focus on indoor-outdoor living.

Horse Creek Ridge will also eventually include eight parks, including an 8.5-acre San Diego County Sports Park that will include a soccer field, picnic and barbecue areas, and a baseball diamond with sloped-grass seating areas.

The community’s rec center will be a family-friendly hub, featuring a swimming pool, dining areas with built-in gas barbecues, kitchen, and an indoor-outdoor fireplace. A second pool area is also planned.

A future Town Center that would be developed adjacent to the community is also in the works.

No word yet on prices or expected sale dates, but interested homebuyers are encouraged to visit D.R. Horton’s site for more info.
