In its latest iteration, a Granada Hills mixed-use proposal could include 242 housing units and 40,000 square feet of commercial space, according to Curbed LA. Original plans included as many as 440 units and 60,000 square feet of commercial space, but those numbers have been scaled back over the course of the last year.

The new proposal — which the Los Angeles City Planning Commission will be hearing appeals on — would mean new retail, dining, and entertainment space for the area, plus 102 townhomes.

Granada Hills sits conveniently next to the US Interstate 5 and 405, northwest of Northridge and Porter Ranch. However, the community is more residential with smaller shopping plazas and more single-family homes. A mixed-use build like the one proposed to sit at Woodley Avenue and San Fernando Mission Boulevard would not be common for the area.

This is far from the only LA County project that Harridge Development Company is in the middle of — most of the others are actually even higher-profile. Those include the Crossroads of the World in Hollywood and potential condo site in Inglewood near the site of the future home of the NFL’s Chargers and Rams.
