Renovations for South LA’s Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza are underway. Per Urbanize, the real estate group Capri Capital Partners released new renderings for the mixed-use community project last week. The massive 43-acre site is bounded by W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, S. Crenshaw Boulevard, S. Marlton Avenue, W. Santa Rosalia Drive, and W. Stocker Street.

Currently, the shopping mall has retail, a movie theater, and one commercial structure. However, new plans call for approximately 2 million square feet of floor space, which would include areas for retail/restaurant, commercial/office, hotel rooms, and residences.

Developers are Looking to Build:

  • An eight-story structure at the corner of Stocker Street and Santa Rosalia Drive that would include 400 hotel rooms, conference rooms, and various restaurants
  • A 10-story building at the corner of 39th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard dedicated to office space
  • Multiple six-story condominium and apartment buildings that would include retail space and 961 living spaces (551 condominium units and 410 apartments)
  • A new garage that holds up to 6,829 parking spaces for patrons and residents
  • A new village at the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Stocker Street to replace the current grocery store

On top of the highly anticipated renovations to this Baldwin Hills site, the community is also looking forward to the Metro’s upcoming Crenshaw/LAX Line, which will be stationed underneath the shopping center.
