Valley Center's Konyn Dairy to Become Mixed-Use Residential Community
Park Circle, a mixed-use master-planned community, will be a new addition to Valley Center. Built on 75 acres of the former Konyn Dairy (Valley Center Road and Mirar de Valle), the community will feature a large central park surrounded by traditional single-family and cluster-style homes, shops, and restaurants.
According to Times of San Diego, San Diego-based Touchstone Communities is in charge of the project, purchasing the property for $6 million from the Konyn family.
Matt Davis of Cushman & Wakefield, a representative of both parties, said, “In realizing their dairy operation would not continue, the Konyns hoped that their beloved Valley Center property would be developed and woven into the Valley Center community fabric that they have been so closely aligned with for decades, a shared goal that Touchstone Communities also intends to fulfill.”
Terry Jackson, also of Cushman & Wakefield, said, “The property was a long-time family owned asset that was ripe for re-positioning since the dairy industry has faced regulatory headwinds in San Diego County for several years.”
The announcement was made last Thursday.
