City Proximity

McKinney is just miles away from the fastest-growing corporate corridor in North Texas. As the county seat of Collin County, McKinney is 15 miles northeast of Plano, and the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Highway 121 provides the most direct route between the two cities.

Plano is the site of new corporate headquarters for several multinational corporations at Legacy West, including Toyota North America, Liberty Mutual, and JPMorgan Chase. Numerous other corporations also have their headquarters buildings in Plano, such as JCPenney and Dr. Pepper Snapple. If you work in Plano, living in McKinney is a great choice.

Frisco is another popular area in North Texas. Located between Plano and McKinney, Frisco is the entertainment and shopping hub in Collin County. Here you’ll find everything from The Star at Frisco (the Dallas Cowboys Headquarters) to shopping at IKEA and the upscale Stonebriar Centre mall.

If you want to get out of Collin County and head to the big city, Downtown Dallas is about 32 miles away. While it may be a slow drive in rush hour traffic, you can still get from McKinney to Downtown Dallas via a pretty straight shot down US 75.
