Canterbury Village over view
I have lived here since 2019. It is a quiet neighborhood, older, some of the houses need some updating but in general is kept in reasonable condition. There is no HOA so there are people who do some unruly things like let their dogs run lose or park in their front lawns, or don’t trim and mow lawn and trees like they should. But the neighborhood is safe, very walkable. There is a Facebook group for the neighborhood. I’ve heard of very little crime here. Crime more so occurring in the newer surrounding neighborhoods. I’ve remodeled my home but the surrounding homes around me limit my homes value. The neighbors are generally nice, but keep to themselves. The neighborhood is diverse, mostly Hispanic and black, some white. I have not seen any other culture here. The entrance is an eyesore with no neighborhood banner, and a liquor store and old gas station. I am disappointed in the park here. A lot more can be done with it to make it nice. It just has two rusty swings, a bench, quarter mile running trail and that’s it. Not even any shade.
Overall I’m satisfied here. It’s safe and meets needs. The oldness of the area is off put but cosmetic. It’s not fancy but it will do.
