Horrible place. The school is the cross between an insane asylum and the mob. Students bully students. Staff bully students. Some staff bullying other staff. They don't care about bullying because most help write the book on it. The twilight zone is nothing to compare. A staff could punch a child in the back and administration would see it, and say the child punched. The school's loyalty to one another is like a dog sticking to a bone. They only hire family members and friends to work. Many of who are not qualified to run around in a circle. The only children who are safe there; are the children whose parents may have some leadership in the community. A child who they feel represent the school well too. The children who are safe, can also get away with anything negative. They are so desperate to keep a teacher, the teacher can get away with anything negative. Aside from a few good teachers and staff; the new principal (2018) trying to change the school for the better. Otherwise, the place is almost on it's way to becoming a cesspool. This is putting it kindly.

My oldest children (17,15) attended Jackson Elementary and were in the School of the Arts Magnet Program and gifted student program. My oldest attends Stillwell School of the Arts, plays 7 different instruments, has been a member of Spivey Hall Children's/Touring Choir for several years, and does very well academically. My 15 y/old attends Mount Zion HS and does very well academically and plays varsity sports. Parental involvement, a home environment suitable for learning, and being involved in Jackson's SOA are all why my kids are doing well academically and otherwise. Dr. Jackson and the professionals at Jackson Elementary are concerned about the students. My youngest two currently attend Jackson and will be entering the 3rd grade this fall. They too are a part of the SOA and enjoy attending Jackson. There are several different clubs and afterschool activities available and they offer an annual Summer Arts Camp. Great school!!!

This school is fantastic! All of the teachers in the magnet classes are certified in gifted education so my child gets challenging instruction and lessons in her regular 4th grade class. The recitals come off as almost professional, everyone is always impressed. I would highly recommend the school!

This school looks nice on the outside but it needs to be shut down for internal investigations. I have complained numerous times prior to the pre-k students having sex in the classroom in front of two teachers being present. School dont even supply soap in bathrooms, and a number of students were sick with viruses and illnesses throughout the 2013-2014 school year. I even contacted the term superintendent with my concerns,no actions I could see taken. My child second grade teacher lost my child for hours, a neighbor found my daughter and stayed with her until I (parent) found her with my neighbor. Please be aware, you will be sorry later, thinking this school of the art school is a safe learning environment for any child
