Pleasantville has many rural area homes, as well as newer subdivisions and complexes. A majority of the single-family homes in this neighborhood are clustered around the southeast side, near Interstate 10 and 610 Loop. The area is known for affordable homes and has attracted real estate investors due to the renovation opportunities.

The usual fast food chain restaurants can be found along Interstate 10 and 610 Loop, but there are also many local establishments in this neighborhood that are highly rated. Taconmadre Taqueria and Don Chile Mexican Restaurant near Interstate 10 have been serving Tex-Mex and traditional Mexican tacos for many years.

Small subdivisions and land for sale. Due to its proximity to major freeways, you should expect heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours. Although Pleasantville is just within the 610 Loop, the area has a somewhat rural look and feel, with several older single-family homes sitting on large acres of land.

There are a handful of bars, lounges and late night restaurants on Interstate 10 and along the 610 Loop. Due to the neighborhood's small size and serving primarily as a residential community, the nightlife scene in Pleasantville isn't vibrant yet. More establishments are expected to bloom in the neighborhood as commercial areas gradually expand.

Locals enjoy good old-fashioned backyard BBQs with neighbors in this tight knit community. There are also many restaurants and cafes along the major freeways surrounding Pleasantville. Downtown Houston is just to the west and offers various weekend activities, such as Broadway musicals at the Theater District, Sam Houston Park and Houston Aquarium.
