Despite Nimitz always having a bad reputation, it actually helps a lot of students when it comes to their future goals. I graduated from Nimitz in 2019 as a cum laude student. If it wasn't for them and their dual credit program, I would have never gotten into Texas A&M. Throughout my time here, the school improved a lot. Academically, it could improve a little more, but when I was there, the students always achieved wonderful things. As a public school, you may think here are fights everyday, but I only heard of about two in the four years I was there. They also do not implement the collar shirts since the district decided to remove that policy. I did not LOVE this school, but I am forever grateful for the opportunities it gave me.

This campus has really turned around under the new direction and leadership of the administrative team over the past 4 years. The campus leadership is the reason that the school has gone from WORST to FIRST. Nimitz High School students and staff should be proud at the fact that Nimitz is the Highest ranking traditional high school in Aldine ISD. The students are learning more and more each year, receiving full-ride scholarships to the campuses of their choosing and are prepared to take their life and career to the next level. It is a campus rich in culture and there is no reason why the students should not feel like the best in the nation.

The school needs to stop with the ridiculous collar shirt dress code; it's not a private school! It's a PUBLIC SCHOOL. The collar shirt dress code, does not put a stop to inappropriate attires of some girls. I see short dresses, crop tops, low cut tees on girls! WITHOUT COLLARS, but they still go a whole day without being put in "SAC". But honestly the whole dress code thing does not help improve grades, so why in force it to the school. Also, the staff who are "in charge" (I put quotation marks, because like I said I see many out of dress code students) need to be more focus on the outside of the school, during working school hours, because many students skip and go to LoneStar or outside in the forest; by the staff keeping the students in class instead of skipping to the outside, grades will most likeky improve.

The school offers a lot of dual credit and there is a diverse campus of great teachers who work diligently, creatively, and compassionately at what they do. Students that take advantage of what is offered will go far in college and their career choices.
