I would have ranked the school as GREAT, but the counselor ( Martinez) is AWFUL. She is always busy and will continue to redirect you to someone else for the entire year. Mr. Jones was GREAT at catching all of her dodging, but know that he is gone I have NOOO help and it has been such a hard year for me. I have had to find all the AVID teachers, Course Selection etc. on my own. I am very excited to be going to the high school the counselor there Mrs. Mc Miller is VERY helpful.

This school has a major issue with overcrowding. The teachers as well as the counselors and principals seem to be overwhelmed. There is also a problem with discipline problems at this school. The school principal doesn't handle parent meetings he filters this off to his asst principal. The asst principal some are good others not so much. Some will deal with discipline issue other look over the fighting, bullying and distractions in class. When it is time to discipline the students it varies tremendously from asst prin to the next it is not at all consistent. I think it send a mixed signal to children exactly what is accepted and what is not. They seem to have their picks on who is disciplined and who is not. I don't like the fact you are not notified until weeks later if there is problem with your child being picked on or bullied. Also do to the overcrowding of the school and the many behavioral issue it takes away from the learning in the class.
