Amazon’s been busy lately opening brick-and-mortar bookstores and acquiring a major grocery chain. The e-commerce monolith continues its conquest in Miami, where it opened a hub for super-fast deliveries in one of the city’s most hip, walkable neighborhoods, according to The Real Deal.

Amazon has opened warehouses in more suburban parts of Miami, as it has elsewhere in the country, but this week’s Prime Now hub opening in Wynwood marks the first time the retailer will operate a warehouse in an urban Miami neighborhood.

The hub for Amazon’s Prime Now service — which promises same-day delivery, sometimes within two hours — is partnering with a Doral-based food producer to offer Latin goods alongside items from national brands. Amazon set up shop at a 50,000-square-foot warehouse on 101 Northeast 23rd St., on the southeast edge of the neighborhood.

Wynwood has more development on the horizon that will continue to make the neighborhood a hot spot for both work and play, including an urban park and a major job center.
