Diamond Bar is located towards the east side of Los Angeles County. It’s bordered by other popular cities such as Walnut, Brea, Chino Hills, Rowland Heights, and Pomona.
Over the years, Diamond Bar has transformed from a quiet and tranquil suburb into one of the most desirable, family-friendly communities in LA County. Although many parts of Diamond Bar still have years to go before becoming a walkable and transit-friendly, its convenient location near the 60 and 57 freeways make Diamond Bar a haven for drivers.
Compared to other cities in the Los Angeles area, Diamond Bar is still relatively new, despite being first founded in 1918. It wasn’t officially incorporated into the county until the spring of 1989. Today, the city is filled with lush, recreational parks, stunning hillside views, a wide range of neighborhoods, and some of the county’s most diverse cuisines.
For those homebuyers interested in moving to Diamond Bar, here are some of the city’s most amenity-filled main streets.
Diamond Bar Boulevard
Cutting through the popular neighborhoods of Diamond Ridge and The Hills, Diamond Bar Boulevard is the city’s main thoroughfare. The street runs parallel with the 60 and 57 freeway.
While Diamond Ridge offers residents larger homes at a median sale price in the high $800s, prices for mid-size homes in The Hills tend towards the low $800s.
Starting at the bottom of the valley and eventually turning into Brea Canyon, Diamond Bar Boulevard features specialty Asian restaurants, mom-and-pop boutiques, and the Diamond Bar Town Center, perfect for a Sunday out with friends. Homes also border both sides of Diamond Bar Boulevard, along with tree-lined sidewalks.
With more and more people moving to this area, the city proposed a renovation project last year, meant to further activate the boulevard. Diamond Bar is currently planning its early stages of Diamond Bar Boulevard’s Streetscape Project, which will bring new plants, street furniture, colored concrete pavement, much-needed lighting, and decorative accents to the community.
Grand Avenue
Adjacent to Diamond Bar Boulevard is another popular street, Grand Avenue (not to be confused with Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles). While Diamond Bar Boulevard runs from the city’s north to south side, Grand Avenue runs from east to west.
This street offers locals access to well-known neighborhoods such as Montefino, Diamond Bar Hills, and Vantage. Most of the homes in the luxurious Diamond Bar Hills feature 3,000-square-foot residences with three to five bedrooms and private driveways.
For potential buyers who want to be near groceries, Indian cuisine, fitness facilities, and recreational parks, simply head towards Grand Avenue. Since this area has many of the city’s main amenities, not to mention access to the freeways, Diamond Bar is currently working on a three-phase project meant to ease its traffic congestion. The project is nearly finished with its first phase, and its last stage is set to be completed by 2025.
The intersection of Grand Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard is also the site of The Country, a prestigious residential community with expansive homes priced from $1.2 million to $9.9 million.
Golden Springs Drive
Another popular main street in Diamond Bar is Golden Springs Drive, which offers residents access to some of the city’s popular recreational areas, including Diamond Bar Golf Course and Sycamore Canyon Park. It also provides convenient entry into the upscale communities of Diamond Bar Tennis Club, Diamond Point, and South Pointe.
Diamond Bar Tennis Club continues to attract homebuyers thanks to its variety of condo and attached home options, most of which are offered at affordable prices starting in the mid $200s. Families will be happy to know that this street is also conveniently located next to the city’s local Target as well as an indoor children’s playground.
Golden Springs Drive is also near Cimarron Oaks, one of Diamond Bar’s most reputable residential neighborhoods. Many homes in Cimarron Oaks provide modern amenities such as home gardens, swimming pools, and even picnic areas. The median home price in this particular neighborhood is in the low $400s.
Pantera Park Drive
One of Diamond Bar’s best kept secrets is Pantera Park Drive, which features modern-style homes in the highly sought-after neighborhood of Pantera Park. Homes along Pantera Park Drive typically come with spacious backyards, driveways, garages, and gardens—many sitting on quarter-acre lots.
