Overview
O'Hare is the furthest Northwest neighborhood of Chicago, consisting of O'Hare International Airport and a residential area east of the dividing forest preserve. Homes in this neighborhood are quite affordable and offer unparalleled access to the airport for frequent flyers. While much of the culture here revolves around the airport, the O'Hare community has still managed to carve out a unique identity between its quaint residential areas and corporate office parks.

O’Hare’s residential section features rows of one-story, single-family homes as well as low-maintenance condominiums that may appeal to air travelers. A CTA train station on the northern border of the neighborhood shuttles passengers to the airport, to the Loop, and everywhere in between. Those who like to slip into nature regularly may enjoy living near Catherine Chevalier Woods or Schiller Woods.

While most neighborhoods so far from the city center offer few dining options, O’Hare’s residents enjoy a surprisingly rich dining scene by living next to the largest airport in the Midwest. Upscale steakhouses like Gibson’s, Morton’s, and The Capital Grille abound, hosting business lunches and special dinners for travelers and residents. While many of the area’s restaurants are chains, a handful of local diners, such as The Blossom Cafe and Mac’s Restaurant, can be enjoyed in the area.
Friday Night Fun
While not particularly known for its nightlife, O'Hare does have a collection of bars and pubs where residents can watch a game over beer. The surrounding suburbs and neighborhoods also offer a variety of options for a Friday night. In Rosemont, you can find dinner and a movie or attend sporting events and concerts at the Allstate Arena.
The Perfect Sunday
O’Hare is a surprisingly good place to be for those that like to spend time outdoors. Catherine Chevalier Woods and Schiller Woods offer large stretches of forest for hiking and vast open fields that are beautiful for picnics. The area is also known for its impressive churches that attract architecture buffs with ornate, gothic architecture.
